Cabana Mio Self-Catering – Terms and Conditions


Thank you for choosing Cabana Mio Self-Catering Chalets. We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful beachside accommodation. By making this booking, you are entering into a legally binding agreement with us. Please read these terms and conditions carefully.

1. Booking and Pricing

The price of accommodation will be in accordance with your Booking Confirmation and seasonal rates as displayed on our website. All prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and are subject to availability.

Important: Your booking is only confirmed once we receive your deposit payment and send you a written confirmation.

2. Cancellations and Refunds

When making a booking at Cabana Mio, your reservation is secured by the deposit payment. Should you need to cancel your booking, we will endeavor to re-let the accommodation. Cancellation fees are calculated as follows:

Cancellation Period Fee Charged
30-15 days prior to arrival 50% of total accommodation cost
15-8 days prior to arrival 75% of total accommodation cost
7-0 days prior to arrival 100% of total accommodation cost
Non-arrival or early departure 100% of total accommodation cost
Travel Insurance Recommended: We cannot assess individual circumstances for cancellations. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance to protect your booking investment.

3. Non-Availability of Accommodation

We will only cancel your booking if accommodation becomes unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control (such as natural disasters or government restrictions). In such cases, we will:

  • Attempt to offer suitable alternative accommodation
  • Provide a full refund of all payments if alternatives are unavailable or unacceptable
  • Our liability is limited to the refund amount only

4. Payment Methods

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Electronic bank transfer (EFT) – preferred method
  • Cash payments in South African Rand
  • Visa and Mastercard (debit or credit cards) – processing fees apply
  • International transfers via Swift (costs for recipient’s account)

5. Security Deposit

A refundable security deposit of R700 per chalet is required upon arrival. This deposit:

  • Must be paid in cash
  • Covers potential damages or excessive cleaning requirements
  • Will be refunded in full at checkout, subject to property inspection
  • May be retained (partially or fully) for damages, missing items, or additional cleaning costs

6. Check-in and Check-out

Arrival

  • Standard check-in: From 12:00 PM on arrival day
  • Early arrival: Subject to availability and prior arrangement
  • Late arrival: Please notify us by 6:00 PM if arriving after hours
  • Failure to notify of late arrival may result in re-letting of accommodation

Departure

  • Standard check-out: By 10:00 AM on departure day
  • Late checkout: Available until 4:00 PM at R200 per hour (subject to availability)
  • Final invoice payable upon departure

7. Property Care and Liability

We provide clean, fully-equipped accommodation and ask that you treat our property with care:

  • Report any damages or malfunctions immediately
  • You are liable for damages caused during your stay
  • Minor breakages are typically not charged if reported promptly
  • Significant damages may incur repair costs plus R250 admin fee if unreported
  • We are not liable for loss, damage, or injury unless caused by our proven negligence

8. House Rules and Regulations

Noise Policy

  • Live or amplified music is prohibited per our business license
  • Quiet hours: 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM
  • Respect neighboring properties at all times
  • Management reserves the right of admission

Smoking Policy

  • This is a non-smoking establishment
  • Smoking permitted only in outdoor areas (balconies, patios, gardens)
  • Smoking indoors may result in additional cleaning charges

Children

  • Children of all ages are welcome
  • Parents/guardians are responsible for child supervision and behavior
  • Cribs and extra beds are not available
  • Please consider other guests when children are playing

Pets

  • Pets are not permitted at this property

9. Guest Support

Our management team is available 24/7 for emergencies and urgent issues. For the best experience:

  • Report problems immediately for prompt resolution
  • Contact us for assistance with appliances or equipment
  • We prefer to address concerns during your stay rather than after departure

10. Privacy and Data Protection

Personal information collected during booking is stored securely and used solely for:

  • Managing your reservation and stay
  • Sending booking confirmations and important updates
  • Optional promotional communications (with your consent)

11. Force Majeure

We are not liable for any failure to perform our obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government restrictions, or other unforeseeable events.
